Surgery bans elderly patient over her carbon footprint

The Telegraph
3 April 2012

An elderly woman was ordered to find a new GP because the “carbon footprint” of her two-mile round trips to the surgery where she had been treated for 30 years was too large.

Climate change madness from the WHO: Hospitals urged to reduce their carbon footprints!

Hospitals should use alternative forms of energy such as solar panels and wind turbines, install energy-efficient lightbulbs as well as buy organic food from local suppliers and make ambulances more environmentally friendly, the WHO said.

Engineering Humans: A New Solution to Climate Change?

Extract from Live Science
29 March 2012

-Induce intolerance to red meat (think lactose intolerance), since livestock farming accounts for a significant portion of greenhouse gas emissions.

-Make humans smaller to reduce the amount of energy we each need to consume. This could be done by selecting smaller embryos through preimplantation genetic diagnosis, a technique already in use to screen for genetic diseases. “Human engineering could therefore give people the choice between having a greater number of smaller children or a smaller number of larger children,” they write.

-Reduce birthrates by making people smarter, since higher cognitive ability appears linked to lower birthrates. This could be achieved through a variety of means, including better schooling, electrical stimulation of the brain and drugs designed to improve cognitive ability, they propose.

-Treat people with hormones, such as oxytocin, to make us more altruistic and empathetic. As a result, people would be more willing to act as a group and more sensitive to the suffering of animals and other people caused by climate change.

Weather forecasting is obviously not Professor Tim Flannery’s forte

Daily Telegraph
March 01, 2012

METEOROLOGISTS suggested Climate Commissioner Tim Flannery leave weather forecasting to them as the big wet defies his prediction rain would become scarce.

In 2007 Professor Flannery said Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane were in urgent need of desalination plants.

Four years on, Warragamba Dam is on the verge of overflowing and Brisbane last year endured the worst flooding in almost four decades.

After yesterday discovering Professor Flannery is not a meteorologist, the Weather Channel’s meteorologists said it was probably best he left the forecasting to them.

Dam buster as Warragamba is full

“People ideally suited to that are meteorologists. From what I can see on Tim Flannery, meteorology wasn’t one of his specialties,” Weather Channel’s Dick Whitaker said.

A commission spokeswoman yesterday said Professor Flannery was in Germany, but said droughts were expected to become more frequent and “just because it is raining does not mean we should not think ahead and prepare for a drier future.”

Professor Flannery’s statements in 2007 came “in the midst of a record-breaking drought with dam levels perilously low,” she said.

Armed Troops Burn Down Homes, Kill Children To Evict Ugandans In Name Of Global Warming

Prison Planet
September 23, 2011

Neo-colonial land grabs carried out on behalf of World Bank-backed British company

Armed troops acting on behalf of a British carbon trading company backed by the World Bank burned houses to the ground and killed children to evict Ugandans from their homes in the name of seizing land to protect against “global warming,” a shocking illustration of how the climate change con is a barbarian form of neo-colonialism.

The evictions were ordered by New Forests Company, an outfit that seizes land in Africa to grow trees then sells the “carbon credits” on to transnational corporations. The company is backed by the World Bank and HSBC. Its Board of Directors includes HSBC Managing Director Sajjad Sabur, as well as other former Goldman Sachs investment bankers.

Australian Prime Minister announces carbon dioxide tax and temperatures in Australia plummet!

Wow, Australian PM Julia (or Juliar as she is called in Aus) Gillard announces her carbon dioxide tax to stop global warming and temperatures drop! Can we cancel the tax now Juliar.

Via Weatherzone

Much of southern Queensland experienced its coldest night in several years as temperatures plumetted five to 10 degrees below average.

The coldest area was inland, where frost was severe. In the Maranoa, Roma dipped to minus five degrees, their coldest night in 14 years.

Now that Julia Gillard has stopped global warming, we have seen some immediate benefits, like the decrease in crime in the Australian capital of Canberra…

Canberra: too cold for crime
Cold weather over the weekend has helped keep the number of criminal incidents a little lower than usual, as people opted to stay indoors.

When seemingly intelligent people say STUPID things

by honestclimate, July 12, 2010

Some of you may remember how at the beginning of the year South Africa applied for a loan from the World Bank to build a coal fired power station. At the time I blogged about it here. Remember that South Africa is fast running out of electricity and coal is the cheapest, most effective form of electricity in Africa.

I was trying to use this example on a work colleague of mine, who is a warmist, to try and get the point across of how the decisions made by people in the West adversely affects the poor. I explained to my colleague how the White house wanted to deny South Africa of a loan to build a coal power plant because of …….global warming.
That’s right bureaucrats from the White house, sitting in their fossil fuelled air conditioned offices, driving around in their fossil fuelled cars, flying around in their fossil fuelled jets wanted to deny South Africa a loan to build a coal fired plant!

I was sure that my colleague would be able to see the sheer madness of it all, but instead my colleague turned to me and said that Africa shouldn’t get funding for a coal plant and that instead the West should fund solar power for Africa.

Now this colleague of mine is no dummy, in fact this colleague of mine has a Science degree. This is a person with a science degree saying Africa should be powered by solar. Has the world gone totally INSANE?

Do these people really think that they will save the polar bears by getting the West to fund solar panels made in China by fossil fuelled factories and exported to South Africa on fossil fuelled ships so that they can put $10,000 solar panels on mud huts??? Are you SERIOUS???

Another pet peeve of mine is when people on the warming side tell me not to listen to the skeptics as they “have no peer reviewed papers and they have vested financial interests” and then in the same breath they tell me about something they learned at an Al Gore presentation.
Are you serious??? Al Gore, who barely passed science at school. Al Gore who has a carbon offset business. Al Gore who is set to become the first carbon billionaire. Al Gore who jets around in his private plane and has a carbon footprint the size of the African continent.  When a stupid person says stupid things, you can understand it, but when seemingly intelligent people say stupid things, you have to wonder, has the world gone totally INSANE???

Thanks for listening to my rant, feel free to add your own experiences, in the comments section below, of people saying stupid things…

Where should we put the $10,000 solar panel?

Anesthetics Could Add to Global Warming

Newswire,
1 July 2010

Inhaled anesthetics widely used for surgery—particularly the anesthetic desflurane—make a measurable contribution to global warming, according to a study in the July issue of Anesthesia & Analgesia, official journal of the International Anesthesia Research Society (IARS).

Call it Gore Disorder

Andrew Bolt Blog, May 8, 2010

Global warming preachers are driving people mad with fear:

The Royal Australian and New Zealand Collage of Psychiatrists’ Congress at SkyCity Convention Centre in Auckland brings together mental health experts in a diverse range of areas; from children and adolescents to old age, mental health across the lifespan will be discussed. Here are some highlights from this morning’s program.

Global warming fears seen in obsessive compulsive disorder patients

A recent study has found that global warming has impacted the nature of symptoms experienced by obsessive compulsive disorder patients. Climate change related obsessions and/or compulsions were identified in 28% of patients presenting with obsessive compulsive disorder. Their obsessions included leaving taps on and wasting water, leaving lights on and wasting electricity, pets dying of thirst, leaving the stove on and wasting gas as well as obsessions that global warming had contributed to house floors cracking, pipes leaking, roof problems and white ants eating the house. Compulsions in response to these obsessions included the checking of taps, light switches, pet water bowls and house structures. “Media coverage about the possible catastrophic consequences to our planet concerning global warming is extensive and potentially anxiety provoking. We found that many obsessive compulsive disorder patients were concerned about reducing their global footprint,” said study author Dr Mairwen Jones.

White House to South Africa: Let them eat cake

April 2, 2010

South Africa is becoming a high-carbon zone to attract foreign investment

The Guardian, April 1, 2010

Extract:

“Recognising that a tonne of CO2 from a South African coal plant is just as damaging as a tonne from anywhere else, the White House has signalled they won’t offer their support to subsidise the Eksom mega-coal plant in South Africa when it comes up for a vote at the World Bank next week.”

You can read the full article from the Guardian here

South Africa is fast running out of affordable electricity and a coal plant is the cheapest and most effective option.

Whilst Obama and Gore fly around in their private jets, people in Africa are living in poverty and the West seems intent on keeping it that way. How many more deaths and suffering do the poor have to endure in the name of “preventing climate change”. The world has gone mad.

Save the planet: eat a dog?

Via Stuff.co.nz
22 October, 2009

The eco-pawprint of a pet dog is twice that of a 4.6-litre Land Cruiser driven 10,000 kilometres a year, researchers have found.

Victoria University professors Brenda and Robert Vale, architects who specialise in sustainable living, say pet owners should swap cats and dogs for creatures they can eat, such as chickens or rabbits, in their provocative new book Time to Eat the Dog: The real guide to sustainable living.

The couple have assessed the carbon emissions created bypopular pets, taking into account the ingredients of pet food and the land needed to create them.

“If you have a German shepherd or similar-sized dog, for example, its impact every year is exactly the same as driving a large car around,” Brenda Vale said.
