Julia Gillard repeals Carbon Tax
Australia: April 1, 2012
Australian Prime Minister, Julia Gillard has announced she will be repealing Australia’s $23 per tonne Carbon Tax, which was due to be implemented on 1 July 2012.
She said it was embarrassing trying to defend her climate change advisors whose predictions kept failing. “It’s one thing when experts make predictions and they are slightly wrong,” she said “but when the complete opposite happens, then there is something drastically wrong. It’s clear to me now that the sun drives climate change. The Carbon Tax will therefore not be implemented on 1 July.”
She was referring to the numerous predictions made of permanent drought in Australia due to man made global warming. Australia has since experienced record breaking flooding. Also 2011 was Australia’s coldest year in a decade, defying an established trend to higher temperatures.
“All funds to man-made climate change research will be stopped with immediate effect” she said “instead, the millions of dollars will be put into cancer research. With this massive increase in funding to cancer research, we expect to find a cure for cancer within the next 5 years.”

Engineering Humans: A New Solution to Climate Change?
Extract from Live Science
29 March 2012
-Induce intolerance to red meat (think lactose intolerance), since livestock farming accounts for a significant portion of greenhouse gas emissions.
-Make humans smaller to reduce the amount of energy we each need to consume. This could be done by selecting smaller embryos through preimplantation genetic diagnosis, a technique already in use to screen for genetic diseases. “Human engineering could therefore give people the choice between having a greater number of smaller children or a smaller number of larger children,” they write.
-Reduce birthrates by making people smarter, since higher cognitive ability appears linked to lower birthrates. This could be achieved through a variety of means, including better schooling, electrical stimulation of the brain and drugs designed to improve cognitive ability, they propose.
-Treat people with hormones, such as oxytocin, to make us more altruistic and empathetic. As a result, people would be more willing to act as a group and more sensitive to the suffering of animals and other people caused by climate change.

The Hour of Power: Celebrate Human Achievement this Saturday.
Joanne Nova website
March 29, 2012
Hello Earthians! It’s time to say thank you to Edison, to Faraday and Maxwell, it’s time to celebrate the Gift of Light.
Saturday night at 8.30 – 9.30pm this week is the Hour of Power
(Don’t confuse this with the splinter group celebrations called Earth Hour, where people sit in the dark – so they can appreciate the glory of luminosity come 9.31).
The Glory! We are the lucky generation with light at the flick of a switch
In the hundred thousand years since homo sapiens came to be, people have fled bondage, wars, small-pox, dysentery, died from minor scratches, starved to death, been ravaged by lions, stricken by cholera, and survived the odd ninety thousand year stretches of hypothermic, abysmal ice age. We lived in the darkness for 99,900 years, cowering in corners, listening to drips, waiting for the sun.
There is only one type of Freedom – and all else is servitude, slavery or tyranny.
It’s your chance to show your commitment to fighting the forces of darkness. Be brave, stand up to the people who want to tell you what kind of globe you are allowed to buy. Feed the world by helping to boost global CO2 to lift crop yields and fertilize farms all over the planet. Children are hungry in Haiti and, since CO2 is a well mixed gas, sooner or later, you will be helping them.
Things you can do at 8.30 on Saturday:
- Write down the tally on the electricity meter.
- Turn on all the lights you can find (bonus points for incandescents from the stash.)
- Put on the party lights, the patio light, the pool light, the mozzie zappers, unpack those Christmas decorations. Get out your torches. Switch the movement detector spotlights to continuous operation. (Involve the kids — they love to help).
- Light your backyard with the landcruiser headlights! (Don’t flatten the battery, make sure you keep that engine running.)
- Don’t forget those bar radiators — revel in that infra red! (Light the kitchen with the ones in the oven and grill.)
- Eat Argentinian Lamb steak, Danish butter, Argentinian Cheese, Belgian Chocolate, and Californian Oranges.
- Drink German Beer and or French Champagne. Drink toasts to coal miners, oil rig workers, and power station staff.
- Take a photo, take lots of photos, and send them to myself, and Tim Blair and Andrew Bolt.
- At 9.30pm read that meter and tell us how many KWhr you’ve liberated. Who will win The Hour of Power?

$175k to cheer up Department of Energy and Climate Change staff
March 24, 2012
THEY are responsible for some of the government’s most important policies – but staff at the Department of Energy and Climate Change are too ashamed to admit where they work.
Staff morale is so low the government has spent almost $175,000 on consultants to lift staff’s flagging spirits.
The department is responsible for carrying out some of the government’s most critical and controversial policies, including those relating to global warming, carbon emission reduction and promoting energy efficiency.

Don’t Sell Your Coat: Surprising Truths About Climate Change
New book by Harold Ambler
Global warming is a household phrase these days, and it has led to a situation in which far too many educated people believe that mankind is hastening the destruction of the world through industry and civilization. But where is the evidence to support these claims? In this impossible-to-put-down book Harold Ambler presents the history of climate in ways that are accessible to the average Joe or Jill and which make it clear that in terms of temperature, weather, and climate we have been here before. Without compromising on scientific detail, Ambler spends each chapter focusing on a different facet of climate science including sunspots, tradewinds, computer modeling, and data collection. He also deftly connects political stakeholders in the global warming arena to various distortions of the science. This distillation of information gives the reader the ability to decide whether global warming is a tangible threat or a convenient propaganda tool.

CLEVELAND – Last night I enjoyed a glass of delicious Australian Shiraz, a 2010 Mollydooker. An outstanding red wine. Big plum flavors with a hint of smoke & anise. In my opinion, the Aussies make some of the best Shiraz in the world. Perhaps it’s because of the often warm, very dry climate where these grapes grow. They are places called Barossa, Adelaide, & Coonawarra… perfect for growing grapes that make outstanding wines. Of course, all plants, including grape vines need water. But the less water grape vines have during the summer and fall, the more flavorful the grape. The algorithm goes like this: Dryer weather = less water in the berry + more sugar and intense flavors = great wines in my glass.
But, imagine my chagrin when I read today about the impending doom of the Australian Wine Industry due to Man-Made Global Warming/Climate Change/Climate Chaos. Here’s what they said in the Prague Post this week:
“Predictions are that if temperatures rise another 2 C, growing vines will become untenable in many of the world’s more renowned wine regions by 2050. One such case is Australia, whose vineyard area could disappear entirely… in such an event, water, not wine would become the overriding priority.”

Note: Make sure to click on the above link to read the rest of this excellent article. Special mention is made of Australian tax-payer funded climate experts such as Tim Flannery, Ross Garnaut and the Australian Bureau of Meteorology and that of their predictions of permanent drought, due to man made global warming. And now, a few years later, those predictions are washed out when the worst flooding in centuries has befallen Australia.
Climate realist Professor Stewart Franks of the University of Newcastle also gets a mention. Once you’ve read the above article, be sure to read the article below:
January 20, 2011
PROFESSOR Stewart Franks, a hydrologist at NSW’s University of Newcastle, warned in a peer-reviewed scientific article published in 2006 that the risk of serious flooding in southern Queensland and NSW increases significantly when a negative phase of the Interdecadal Pacific Oscillation corresponds with a La Nina event.
The Australian Bureau of Meteorology, given these same conditions, forecast average rainfall last spring!

It’s not drought, it’s climate change, say scientists
August 30, 2009
…But to see what role greenhouse gases played in the recent intensification, the scientists used sophisticated American computer climate models.
When they ran simulations with only the ”natural” influences on temperature, such as changing levels of solar activity, they found there was no intensification of the subtropical ridge and no decline in rainfall.
But when they added human influences, such as greenhouse gases, aerosols and ozone depletion, the models mimicked what has occurred in south-east Australia – the high pressure systems strengthened, causing a significant drop in rainfall.
”It’s reasonable to say that a lot of the current drought of the last 12 to 13 years is due to ongoing global warming,” said the bureau’s Bertrand Timbal.
”In the minds of a lot of people, the rainfall we had in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s was a benchmark. A lot of our [water and agriculture] planning was done during that time. But we are just not going to have that sort of good rain again as long as the system is warming up.”…

Just a little over a year later (December 2010), the devastating Queensland floods hit and more recently (March 2012), parts of Victoria, the Northern Territory and almost three quarters of NSW are affected by floods.
Now that’s what you call a wash-out of a prediction and yet they say they can predict the climate in 100 years time!

Weather forecasting is obviously not Professor Tim Flannery’s forte
March 01, 2012
METEOROLOGISTS suggested Climate Commissioner Tim Flannery leave weather forecasting to them as the big wet defies his prediction rain would become scarce.
In 2007 Professor Flannery said Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane were in urgent need of desalination plants.
Four years on, Warragamba Dam is on the verge of overflowing and Brisbane last year endured the worst flooding in almost four decades.
After yesterday discovering Professor Flannery is not a meteorologist, the Weather Channel’s meteorologists said it was probably best he left the forecasting to them.
Dam buster as Warragamba is full
“People ideally suited to that are meteorologists. From what I can see on Tim Flannery, meteorology wasn’t one of his specialties,” Weather Channel’s Dick Whitaker said.
A commission spokeswoman yesterday said Professor Flannery was in Germany, but said droughts were expected to become more frequent and “just because it is raining does not mean we should not think ahead and prepare for a drier future.”
Professor Flannery’s statements in 2007 came “in the midst of a record-breaking drought with dam levels perilously low,” she said.
