As many of you are aware, the sun has been very quiet lately. We now get rather excited at the appearance of the smallest of sun pimples, whereas a couple of years back the sun was full of carbuncles.

Why are we so concerned with the activities of the sun? The longer the sun stays dead, the colder it will get…
